Privacy notice.
How 40KTech AS handles personal data on this website, in plain language.
Who is responsible
40KTech AS, Oslo, Norway, is the controller for personal data processed on this website. [Organisation number and registered address to be added.] Questions about personal data go to hello@40ktech.com.
What we collect, and why
The contact form
When you send a message we store the details you enter (name, email address, company if you give it, the topic you pick and the message itself), the time of sending and your consent. We use them to answer your enquiry and, if you ask, to prepare a first conversation. The legal basis is the steps you ask us to take before a possible agreement (GDPR article 6(1)(b)) and, for the consent you give in the form, your consent (article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by writing to us.
To keep the form free of spam, the server also records the IP address and browser type of each submission and limits how many messages one connection can send in a short time. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the service (article 6(1)(f)). These technical details are not combined with your message for any other purpose.
Technical logs
The website is hosted on Microsoft Azure. Like any web host, Azure keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, requested page, time and browser type) that are used only to run and protect the service.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking scripts and loads no fonts, videos or other content from third-party services. If this changes, this notice and the website will say so before anything is set.
Who sees your data
Your message is delivered to our mailbox and read by the people at 40KTech who answer enquiries. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else. Our processors are Microsoft (website hosting on Azure Static Web Apps and email delivery) [and the email provider used to deliver form messages, to be confirmed before go-live]. Processing takes place in data centres in the European Economic Area [to be confirmed for the chosen email service]. Where a processor transfers data outside the EEA, it does so under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to twelve months after our last exchange, unless a working relationship follows, in which case they become part of that relationship's records. Technical logs are kept for up to thirty days. [Retention periods are a draft to be confirmed.]
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, to give it to you in a portable format, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Write to hello@40ktech.com and we will answer within a month.
If you believe we handle your personal data unlawfully, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.no).
